Simple machines
That is, perform the same work with a lower applied force, obtaining a mechanical advantage.
This mechanical advantage means having to apply the force along a longer (linear or angular) path. In addition, you have to increase the speed to maintain the same power.
The first machines were simple systems that facilitated their work for men and women, today they are known as simple machines.
The wheel, the lever, the simple pulley, the screw, the inclined plane, the hoist, the winch and the wedge are some simple machines. The lever and the inclined plane are the simplest of them all.
In general, simple machines are used to multiply the force or change its direction, so that the work is more simple, convenient and safe.

In a simple machine the law of conservation of energy is fulfilled: "energy is neither created nor destroyed, only transformed". Thus, the work done by the applied force (product of it by the distance that has acted), will be equal to the resulting work (resulting force multiplied by the distance that has acted).
